At current expansion rates, Goonswarm will have consumed most of the south-western map in 4 months, more than half of 0.0 in 7 months, and will obtain total control of all conquerable, lawless space by a year and 2 months (and 17 days) assuming the infrastructure of such a massive empire could ever be supported by the amount of players Eve Online has.
Ok, this is twice I've seen this in this thread, and I've heard it said about BoB in the past.
Total control of Tranquility 0.0 is a complete pipe dream.
I won't sit here and pretend I know what the Goons are up to in the grand scheme of things, but I'm pretty sure this ain't in the cards. Even during the first invasion of Delve, they were pushing their logistics capabilities to the limits, and by the same token, so was BoB during their invasion of the north. In fact, I'm betting the only reason they had the ability to do this massive pile-on in Delve is because they uprooted the majority of their assets in the southeast to do it. That alone speaks to the upper limits of what Goonswarm is capable of (realistically), and I would be impressed if they were to keep up this pace after they've secured Delve (and surrounds).
BoB, Goonswarm, Red Alliance, and Against All Authorities give a pretty good indicator of just what the lines in the sand are for expansion. Three regions, tops. Beyond that, the supply lines are too stretched, your ambitions start making your former blues rather uncomfortable, and you end up stepping on so many toes, the next bull's eye gets painted on your back. Or worse, you end up expanding to such a size that internal strife tears you apart from within.
Now, maybe this is the grand plan for the Goons. Hell, as long as you can control the incoming aggression from other alliances, it sounds like a PvPer's wet dream. But believe me, no alliance is going to get even half the map under Sov 1 before the next coalition forms to topple them. In the event of an emergency, my ego may be used as a floatation device.
